Curb number repainting in New York

If you have to squint at your own curb, a stranger in a hurry doesn’t stand a chance. We bring worn numbers back to full contrast for $100 per curb.

What wears a curb number out

New York is hard on curbs, from Staten Island to Suffolk County. Snow plows scrape them, road salt eats at paint, and street sweepers pass week after week. Tires rub the face of the curb when people parallel park, and street resurfacing can leave a number partly buried.

None of that means you did anything wrong. It just means the number needs repainting. Here is the standard we bring it back to:

Curb address number 1209 painted in black on a white background

Signs it’s time

  • You can’t read the number from the driver’s seat
  • The white background has gone gray or patchy
  • One or more digits have chipped away
  • New paving covers part of the number
  • The number is wrong or belongs to an old address

How a repaint differs from a new number

More prep

We remove what is loose so that fresh paint bonds to the curb, not to flaking layers.

A full reset

You get a new white base and new numerals, not a touch-up over old digits.

Painting over someone else’s work

It doesn’t matter who did the old number. We bring it up to our standard.

Repainting a whole street or property? It usually makes sense as an HOA program. First time with a painted number? Start with curb address painting. You can also browse more answers in the FAQ.
